Kids Soccer Classes in Sherman Oaks

With three school campuses in the neighborhood (Chandler Elementary, Sherman Oaks Elementary Charter, and Emek Hebrew Academy), Sherman Oaks has more Nordic Soccer programming than any other community in Los Angeles. Families here benefit from walkable access to after-school soccer that starts the moment the bell rings, eliminating the afternoon commute to distant sports facilities.

The neighborhood's tree-lined streets and family-oriented culture make it a natural fit for youth soccer. Parents at Chandler Elementary were among the first to experience Nordic Soccer's on-campus model, and the program has grown steadily through word-of-mouth referrals. Sherman Oaks Elementary Charter, one of the highest-rated public schools in the Valley, added Nordic Soccer to its enrichment lineup in response to parent demand. Emek Hebrew Academy brings a unique community dimension, serving families who value both academic excellence and physical development.

Nordic Soccer's Sherman Oaks programs run Monday through Friday depending on the campus, with sessions typically lasting 60 to 90 minutes. Every coach is LiveScanned, trained in age-appropriate methodology, and keeps groups to 8 to 12 players per coach. The curriculum progresses from basic motor skills and ball familiarity for TK and kindergarten players to tactical concepts and small-sided games for 3rd through 5th graders.

Beyond after-school programming, Sherman Oaks families have access to Nordic Soccer's full ecosystem. Louis Armstrong Middle School on Sunnyslope Avenue is the hub for competitive Club team training, including U6 and U7 Club. Club teams from U6 to U10 (born August 1, 2016 to July 31, 2021) train Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 6:30 PM, with Sunday games at Van Nuys Middle School. Tuesday and Thursday Development registration at Armstrong is open, subject to group availability (register at /register/development). Registration must be submitted at least 48 hours before your first class. Once signed up, please text 818-873-9504. Monday and Wednesday Development at Armstrong: Coming in the future. Start date TBD. Weekend Development classes at Valley Village Park and Encino Park, seasonal camps when dates are announced, and the Viking Championship League, whose next season starts January 2027, round out the programming. This layered pathway means a child can start at age 2 in the Development Program, join after-school soccer at Chandler or Sherman Oaks Elementary, start Club at U6 or U7 at Louis Armstrong MS, and keep competing on a Club team as they grow, all without leaving the Nordic Soccer family.
